Announcing the [REDACTED] Hackathon

5 min read

Helius is proud to present the 2025 [REDACTED] Hackathon, a virtual competition bringing together analysts, security researchers, and onchain sleuths from across the crypto space.

To bring the world onchain, we must create an environment where founders and first-time users feel welcome, safe, and encouraged to explore everything Solana offers.

Whether you’re a newcomer or a seasoned veteran, this hackathon is your chance to compete for over $150,000 in bounties from 25+ sponsors while pushing the boundaries of security, transparency, and on-chain intelligence.

Why now?

Over the last year, Solana has experienced a meteoric rise in onchain activity, real economic value (REV), and stablecoin adoption.

Over 2024, the network generated over $1.4B in REV, while stablecoins have grown 122% in just the last two months, reaching $11.4B.

With this rapid growth comes increased scrutiny—and the attention of bad actors. As Solana’s ecosystem expands, the need for robust security and transparency has never been more critical.

Therefore, the purpose of this hackathon is to:

  1. Strengthen Solana’s social layer by uncovering and reporting fake activity and fraud
  2. Accelerate Solana’s adoption by publishing data-backed research and dashboards
  3. Improve the Solana ecosystem’s ability to read and interpret on-chain data

Sponsors

Galvanized by a shared mission to make Solana the home for internet capital markets, this hackathon brings together 25+ companies dedicated to security, forensics, and on-chain data. Their time, expertise, and generous donations make this event possible.

From forensic powerhouses like Arkham, to security veterans like Range and pioneers like Chainalysis, teams from across the ecosystem have risen to the occasion to strengthen Solana’s security and transparency.

Tracks

This hackathon offers four primary tracks:

  1. Analytics — create dashboards and publish reports analyzing onchain data
  2. Monitoring — track and connect activity across wallets, programs, and validators
  3. Forensics — expose fraud, investigate malicious actors, and identify fake activity
  4. Security — report on vulnerabilities, build open-source tooling, and hunt for bugs

Whether you’re a data wizard, whitehat security pro, or forensic ace, there are bounty opportunities for everyone.

Bounties

With over $150,000 in prizes, the stakes are high.

Superteam Earn will host the official [REDACTED] Hackathon website.

Over the next two weeks, all sponsors will publish their bounties on Earn.

All bounties must be listed by 11:59 pm UTC, March 31st, 2025.

Judging

Sponsors are responsible for writing their bounty’s judgment criteria, reviewing each submission, and selecting the best entry based on the bounty’s detailed criteria.

Payments

Winners will receive payments through the embedded wallet connected to their Earn account. Sponsors are encouraged to complete payments through Earn’s platform to ensure bounties are automatically marked as paid and “Winners Announced.”

If winners elect to receive payments off-platform to a different wallet, they are responsible for coordinating that payment with the bounty’s sponsor. Sponsors who complete payments outside the Earn platform must provide transaction signatures to verify that the winner’s wallet received the correct bounty prize amount.

Timeline

The official hackathon timeline is as follows:

  • March 1st to 31st — Sponsors list bounties
  • April 1st to 30th — Participants submit entries
  • May 1st to 16th — Sponsors review and choose winners
  • May 17th to 31st — Sponsors disburse payments to winners
